What in the world is wrong with us! ?

The world is a mess and it’s all because the so-called advanced nations think they know best! They interfere in the running of a sovereign nation albeit a nation run by a dictator, they go to war with this nation, win it, and then don’t have a Plan B, and all hell breaks loose!
Lessons aren’t learned and one good example was the old Communist country of Yugoslavia run by Tito and he made the best of a bad job. The Balkans have a history of tribal warfare and until a strongman came along they would have continued along these lines until, who knows, what the result would have been. Well we do know because as soon as Communism was done away with they have gone back to their old ways which include genocide.
It is regrettable but many of these countries need a strongman, Saddam Hussein for Iraq, Colonel Gaddafi for Libya, Mubarak for Egypt and so on. These leaders know from the start that the only way to keep the population under control is the iron fist, this is the only thing those populations understand. I hasten to add that it is almost certain that it is a small minority of the population that are fundamentalists and cause all the suffering but if it takes a dictator to control their actions then so-be-it.
I regret having to say this but the people of those Islamic nations have proved my point in that they are not only waging Jihad against the Western nations but killing each other because they belong to different sects of Islam. This, to me, strains the credibility of Islam! It also has to be said that while they are killing each other they are not killing innocent people in the West.
I am, obviously not an historian, just an indignant member of one of those Western nations expressing an opinion and if we could put the clock back I’m sure that the UN and the USA, now knowing the result, would not have taken the path that they did. Or would they?
